Happy 90210 Day. In spirit of this joyous occasion lets do a little run down of some key words that are reminiscent of my youthful 90s memories.
Marky Mark/Saturday Morning Cartoons/J.F.K Jr./Berlin Wall/Hong Kong 1997/Hubble/Jodeci/Monica Lewinsky/Corded phones/Y2K/ICQ/Windows 95/Cloning Sheep/O.J Simpson/Calvin Klein’s ck be & ck one/Clueless (You’re a virgin who can’t drive)/Seinfield/Ralph Lauren Overalls/Super NES/Backpack Purse/East Coast Vs. West Coast/Space Jam/Québec as Country/Mean Gene Okerlund/Rick the Temp/R.L Stine/Dr. Martens/Chokers/The Lion King/Plaid Skirts/–List goes on.
September use to be one of my least favourite months as it would mean summer is over and it’s time for school. This September; however, is the first one in almost 2 decade where I will not be shopping for pens and highlighters. FANTASTIC!! I can finally enjoy the greatness that September really has to offer, Fashion Week (which is really a collection of weeks) and Football. The 9th will be the first day of NFL’s regular season and I can’t wait. My brother and I have a fantasy league and I plan on kicking ass again. It will be grand, and sweet lip gloss victory will be waiting.
I went glasses shopping on the weekend and found a great pair of Tom Ford frames. Due to my far-sighted vision, all the glasses I’ve purchased have to flattened out. AND, because of my child size head all the bands have an exaggerated curve to wrap around my ear. A once awesome pair of glasses is now botched just to fit my irregularly small head. It looks great on, but not when off and sitting on the table –unforch.

This is Alexander Wang’s first video campaign, and I’m kind of in love. Not sure if it’s because of Alexander Wang and he can sell me 8.5″ x 11″ lined paper, or if it’s the darkness and I like darkness-ness. The video has some pretty talented people behind it. Interview Magazine Editorial Director Fabien Baron, and Music by The XX. I think that’s pretty pretty pretty cool. –just watch..

It’s about 10:15pm and it’s 24 degrees. I tried very hard this weekend to look graceful as I wipe the sweat off my nose and upper lip -classy, I know. I really hope this heat wave is not the calling of Summer’s end. It would be amazing (unnatural) for this weather to stay until early Autumn as I would finally be able to have my birthday on the beach!!
The last week has been pretty eventful for me; I successfully complete my first styling job. The assignment is featuring a reno home on the West End for INVIS magazine. I went all around town looking for the right cushions and tea cups. Sounds like a job more suited for Martha Stewart’s protégé or Joann. I wanted to wear shorts that day, but the ones I own apparently have an inappropriate length that is only suitable for The Odyssey. Also, during the week I had the pleasure of lugging around a 30lbs ottoman to and from my car about 20 times; however, I think I’m 3 times stronger because of it. **snaps for excuses not to hit the gym.
I really enjoy these photoshoot assignments. I get to meet wonderful people and talented photographers, and every now and then play with house cats. Not too bad if you ask me.

“I felt impotent and out of control, which I really hate. I needed to find sanctuary in a place where I could gather my thoughts and regain my strength.” – Cher Horowitz
Another quote from Clueless that I can relate to. However, in her case the camera pans to the mall. I wish my next scene would be at some creative environment.
This morning I took a personality test from Peter’s blog. Personality tests are funny little things as some are wildly absurd and inaccurate and some are disgustingly spot on. In this case, the test I took had an incredible aim. I am an INTJ – Introverted Intuition with Extraverted Thinking. That little description knows me better than I know myself… I’m aloof with low tolerance for emotion -mmmeh Oh well.

Even though I’m just an intern, I feel ecstatic and overwhelmed seeing my name on the masthead. This is the coolest design thing that has happened to me so far -who am I kidding, this is the coolest thing ever. I have nothing else more to say other than just a big THANK YOU!
